Chema Madoz is kind of the Magritte of photography – the most important thing in his images is that which remains invisible.
The photographer creates a new reality from the objects that surround us. He invites the viewer to complete the composition and find the hidden meaning of the message.
In this play of associations, Chema Madoz has no rival.
Surprising and simple to the point of genius, his black-and-white compositions contain a colourful palette of possible interpretations.
The end is up to us...
Born in 1958, Chema Madoz studied Art History at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and photography at the Centro de Enseñanza de la Imagen. He has received many international awards and honours.
The visual poetry of his work has made him one of the great contemporary masters of photography.
