Exhibition
Human: States of mind
The Alcobendas Collection is visiting Bulgaria for the first time with a selection of 85 photographs by 47 authors who have become emblematic of contemporary visual culture. The implicit presence of the human being is the guiding thread of this exhibition.
Founded in 1993, the Alcobendas Collection is one of the richest collections of photography in Spain. The present exhibition, which shows the Alcobendas Collection for the first time in Bulgaria, features 85 photographs by 47 authors who have become emblematic of contemporary visual culture.
The implicit presence of the human being is the guiding thread of the exhibition.
Neorealists from the mid-twentieth century, such as Català Roca, Ramón Masats, Ricard Terré, etc. are shown side-by-side with the contemporary vision of Joan Fontcuberta, Alberto García-Alix, Pierre Gonnord, Chema Madoz, Ouka Leele, Javier Vallhonrat, etc.
The transition between generations is complemented with the fundamental contribution of the photographers who worked in the era of the Spanish political transition between the 1980s and 1990s, such as Cristina García Rodero and José Manuel Navia among others.
The first Fotofabrika Festival programme includes also a visit to Sofia by two of the world’s most influential photographers represented in the exhibition - Cristina García Rodero and Chema Madoz.
