Erwin Olaf’s Grief, Blacks, Dusk, Dawn
Grief, Blacks, Dusk, Dawn. Four of Erwin Olaf’s most emotionally touching photographic series tell stories of painful suffering and an attempt to preserve one’s dignity, about light and darkness as nuances of the human spirit, about dusk and dawn, where the spirit is most fragile.

Erwin Olaf
This “commercial voyeur”, “modern demon” and “sagacious hooligan”, as he has been repeatedly called, was born in the Netherlands to become one of the most famous and recognizable photographer in contemporary visual arts. He started his career as a journalist in Utrecht, but in 1988 he won his first award in photography. From that moment on he based his unique style on a dance between photojournalism and studio photography. His name is associated with promotional campaigns for Levi’s, Microsoft and Nokia, and his solo exhibitions have travelled the world. This is the second showing in Bulgaria, and he’ll be a special guest at Mtel Media Masters on 18th of October (Tuesday).
